On-The-Move
At the intersection of SE 42nd Ave and SE Caruthers St. Division St Alley, spread out across three spacious rooms, lies a Non-Profit named On-The-Move Community Integration.
Their motto is simple — to help specially-abled adults be a part of the community as much as any other person living in Portland, Oregon.
Now in the 13th year of conception, they continue to serve the Portland community by teaching specially-abled adults to use public transport, providing them with hands-on education, allowing them the opportunity to be artists and musicians. And, most importantly, help them find a place in the community.
This essay came to fruition through a scholarship awarded by Momenta Workshops, a workshop that teaches visual storytellers skills to work with non-profit organizations.
