A native of India, Srijita (Sri)  grew up in the painted deserts of United Arab Emirates. Being a non-resident Indian exposed her to love and appreciate several cultures, concurrently paving her path to visual storytelling.

Sri studied photojournalism and psychological sciences at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. And over the past five years, she has worked across the Midwest, South West Florida, New England, and Texas, contributing to publications like San Antonio Express-News, Naples Daily News and the Hartford Courant.

She has been recognized by the William Randolph Hearst Photojournalism Award program, the Kentucky News Photographers Association and the Society of Professional Journalism region five. Srijita has received the International Student Diplomat scholarship, the Larry Powell Endowment Fund, and the George Tames Scholarship at Western Kentucky University. In 2016 and 2017, she received a full-ride scholarship to attend the Mountain Workshops. And in 2019 she received another full-ride to attend Momenta Workshops which provided her the opportunity to work with Non-Profit Organization.

Currently, Sri is pursuing her Masters in Visual Communications from Ohio University located in Athens, Ohio. She is currently working on a project about kinship care in Appalachia.
